It has been reported that the upcoming Mac Pro, the final product to make the transition to Apple silicon, will feature the same design as the current Mac Pro from 2019.
However, unlike the current Intel-based Mac Pro, the upcoming model will not offer user-upgradeable RAM due to its all-on-chip architecture. This may be a disappointment for some users who are used to being able to easily upgrade their Mac Pro’s memory.
Despite this, the new Mac Pro will still have two SSD storage slots and spaces for graphics, media, and networking cards, providing some options for expansion.
In addition, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has revealed that Apple has decided to cancel plans to release a higher-end version of the upcoming Mac Pro with 48 CPU cores and 152 GPU cores.
This decision is likely due to the high cost of producing such a model and the potential for a limited market for it. While this news may disappoint some users who were hoping for a more powerful Mac Pro option, it is not uncommon for companies to make strategic business decisions based on cost and market demand.
