Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is Nintendo’s biggest mobile launch since Mario Run which is why it may come as no surprise that within the first week of its release it has reached 15 million downloads.
Available for both Android and iOS, the game is a somewhat diluted version of Nintendo’s original Animal Crossing with the key factor being that it takes place in real-time. This means that it will take time for your trees to grow, that certain creatures will only come out at night and so on.
Other than speaking to the anthropomorphic animals in the game, you can fish, mine, collect fruit and catch bugs all with the aim of improving your own personal camp in mind. Building up your camp with furniture allows you to attract all kinds of characters to establish and grow a relationship with them so that you can visit their camps.Ā Unlike other Nintendo games, in Pocket Camp users are able to dabble with in-game purchases such as ‘leaf tickets’ that you can use to build furniture to attract friends.
The game is currently ranked at number 72 among all iPhone apps in terms of revenue on the U.S. App Store. You can download it free for iOS and Android now.
