Outlook iOS App Can Now Include Facebook Events on Calendar

Microsoft’s email client and calendar app, Outlook, has developed into an impressive productivity tool on iOS – not least thanks to today’s introduction of Calendar Apps. This feature means that your Facebook events can now be integrated for ready display on your Outlook calendar.

Once you have connected your Facebook account to Overlook, you only have to bring up your Outlook calendar to see any Facebook event you’re invited to or have indicated your intent to attend, plus your friends’ birthdays. You can then open an event – still within the Outlook app – to RSVP and see the event details and location. Tapping ‘Open in Facebook’ will let you view further details in the Facebook app.

This arrangement could have huge implications for organizing your life. With Calendar Apps also allowing for similar integration of Wunderlist and Evernote to-dos and notes, you won’t need to load up separate apps to assess everything scheduled for a specific day, week or month. Instead, everything can be on your Outlook calendar, which you can always easily and speedily check after perusing your emails.

All of these new features are in the latest version of the free Outlook app. That version is out today and available for iPhone and iPad from the iOS App Store.
