Peculiar New iPhone Concept Features Slide-Out Keyboard

It’s fair to say that, while many iPhone concepts floating around the Internet don’t seem entirely plausible, they can still be fun to learn and speculate about. Such a concept has just emerged, showing an iPhone with a new slide-out keyboard – which may bring to mind a certain other smartphone…

CURVED/labs, the German website behind the concept, has indeed taken inspiration from the recently-released BlackBerry Priv – as it openly acknowledges when introducing the iPhone 6K, as it dubs the concept phone. The device has been given this moniker as it is not an iPhone 7, but instead a modified iPhone 6S – the K here stands for keyboard.

The concept video above also shows how the iPhone 6K could look in a number of standard Apple device colors – even rose gold. In fact, look beyond the keyboard, and you will see that many familiar elements of the iPhone 6S have been kept – including its dimensions and the front Touch ID sensor.

As good a talking point as this concept could prove, it does seem unlikely that Apple would actually introduce an iPhone with a physical keyboard, slide-out or otherwise, any time soon. This is largely just because such a feature hardly appears prominently in wish-lists of iPhone fans.
