Only a day after the release of macOS Sierra 10.12.1, the update has been found to include revealing pictures of the redesigned MacBook Pro expected to be unveiled by Apple at its Thursday event.
The images, the discovery of which a tipster reported to MacRumors, show what looks like the previously rumored OLED touch bar, located where the row of function keys would typically be as part of the physical keys ā which, here, look flatter, hinting at the also predicted butterfly mechanism.
One image, apparently hidden in the operating system but demonstrating how Apple Pay can be used on the new MacBook Pro, shows the touch bar displaying functions related to Apple Pay ā further evidence that this panel will indeed be capable of showing contextual commands.
Also suggested is that the machineās built-in Touch ID sensor will be integrated, almost invisibly, alongside the touch bar, while there will also be the addition of speakers at either side of the keyboard.
Enhance! Touch ID is separate from OLED screen, has its own outline border too, like the Home Button ring. https://t.co/pMHg9oJ2HJ pic.twitter.com/bxIdjQHnAh
