Pinterest Now Has 150 Million Monthly Active Users Globally

The image sharing website Pinterest has revealed that, worldwide, it now has 150 million users who log on at least once a month – an increase of 50% in only just over a year.

Pinterest made the revelation on its own blog, where CEO and co-founder Ben Silbermann added that over half of the site’s users and 75% of its new sign-ups are from outside the United States. The Wall Street Journal notes that Pinterest reached 100 million monthly users in September 2015.

“A year or two ago there were these open questions like, ‘Would we be able to globalize the service? Would we be able to build revenue?’” Silbermann told WSJ. “Some of the questions we started to answer, and we obviously have more questions ahead of us, but I’m really excited about what the future holds.”

Pinterest, which lets users peruse billions of images on a wide array of topics like tattoos and kitchen remodels, can be used through its website and apps, including iPhone and iPad apps. These iOS apps also support integration with Siri for devices on iOS 10, allowing for quick use through voice commands.
