Planet Coaster has unveiled its summer update, bringing with it a whole host of new features and helping the game to climb to new heights.
As the third free expansion from the Planet Coaster team, ‘Summer’ includes brand new ride models, customizable panels, new tertian options, scenery, and fireworks.
The package is available to download now, and, if you have purchased the game through Steam, you’ll get access to the new features as soon as you open the game.
While the trailer is centred around American Independence Day, there’s a lot more on offer other than fireworks and some United States-inspired decorations.
The game’s brand new video billboards mean that you’ll be able to add your own videos to your game, potentially transforming your existing dark rides with custom-designed videos and stock footage from some of your favourite horror films.
A bunch of new rides have also made their way into the game, like the Iron Claw, a 32-person pendulum ride, and the Viper One coaster, which is a multi-launch, twisted impulse, LIM shuttle coaster. These are rides you have to try out!
Fireworks also offers an explosive new way of customising your park and giving guests something else to look at while they’re queueing for their favourite white knuckle rides.
The expansion allows you to design your own firework displays with a Display Sequencer, and you can even trigger the fireworks to set off alongside other park events. What’s more, your fireworks can be choreographed to custom music.
Alongside all of these new features, Frontier has added three challenging scenarios for you to try out when you open the game.
Goldmine Tower – Some poor fella bought this mine from a prospector, and took out some big loans to pay for it. Turns out it was a scam. The varmint had salted the mine! Now he’s trying to turn it into a tourist attraction with fireworks and Old West-style streets, but it’s not doing as well as he hoped and he needs your help.
Miss Elly’s Diner – Miss Elly’s Diner has some great facilities, including a big wooden coaster for a spot of excitement! But its remote location means it doesn’t see many visitors, and its potential isn’t being realised. Can you build on this location and draw in the crowds?
Starship Hanger – They filmed some pretty famous movies out here in the desert. It kind of looks like Mars, don’t it. The place isn’t much in demand any more – it’s all CGI these days – but the company doesn’t want to let it go. They want you to turn it into a theme park instead!
