PodCase: an iPhone battery case that charges your AirPods

Pebble watch founder Eric Migicovsky and his team are back with a new Kickstarter campaign to fund the PodCase, an iPhone battery case that stores and charges your AirPods.

The campaign is quickly receiving funding from a number of backers who have donated over $2000 of the proposed $300,000 goal with a month to go. If the campaign is fully backed, those who donated early will snag a PodCase for only $79 while the case will retail for $99 when its shipped.

The 2500mAh charging case can be used with an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus that will charge over USB-C and store your AirPods when not in use. According to the Kickstarter page, the case will charge your iPhone once fully or charge your AirPods up to 40 times. A novel idea, but certainly one that has potential.

The campaign page also claims that there are plans to create a case for the iPhone 8 and that the team plans to announce support for it during Apple’s event launch on September 12.
