Pokémon Go Now Available in iOS App Stores in UK and Germany

The augmented reality adventure Pokémon Go has already proved a huge hit in the few countries, including the United States, where it launched last week. Now, iOS users with compatible devices in the United Kingdom and Germany can download it from their countries’ App Stores.

With data from app store intelligence company SensorTower having revealed that Pokémon Go has now trumped Facebook in popularity among mobile users, the game’s release in these two major European markets is bound to be warmly welcomed. Pokémon Go enables users to explore real-world environments, where they can spot Pokémon to catch and pick up goodies including PokéBalls.

However, before attempting to download the game onto your own iOS device, you should carefully check for possible compatibility issues. In the release notes for Pokémon Go in the App Store, developer Niantic has said that all iPhone models from the iPhone 5 onward are compatible provided they are running iOS 8 or 9. The fifth generation iPod Touch, on the other hand, is not supported.

Niantic has also warned that it does not guarantee compatibility with iPads, devices lacking GPS capabilities, or devices that are only Internet-connected via Wi-Fi networks. For supported devices, however, Pokémon Go can now be freely downloaded – with optional in-app purchases – from the iOS App Stores in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Germany.
