Let’s be honest in saying that the main focus of the Apple event this coming Tuesday is going to be the iPad Mini and that customers are going to be most interested in one particular feature, the price. In fact, that’s probably why most people would consider purchasing a smaller iPad, and most individuals with a lower income are probably banking on the fact that the iPad Mini will present itself at a low cost.
However, a new product manifest is suggesting that the iPad Mini will come in at a much higher price than we first anticipated. Many analysts have suggested that the device would come in at a general cost of USD $250.00, for the “lowest tier” iPad Mini available, but this newly released manifest seems to hint that the lowest tier will start at approximately USD $329.99. This is a significant increase and is bounds above what many were hoping to pay for the device, pending that this pricing structure is actually true. There also appears to be pricing for “cellular capable” versions of the product, which start at USD $529.99 and get progressively more expensive.
The lowest tier of the iPad Mini is expected to feature a Wifi only interface and have approximately 8 Gigabytes of storage space. But are those features going to be enough to entice buyers into paying what appears to be a higher than expected price? And what about Apple’s latest competition? The Kindle Fire and Google Nexus 7 are both priced at a low point of USD $199.99 respectively, which will be approximately USD $130.00 lower than possible iPad Mini cost. That’s a substantial savings, and could possibly push more individuals towards purchasing the Android- and Amazon-based products.
Only time will tell if these prices are legitimate though, and we will know soon enough when Apple hosts its event on October 23rd. We can also expect to see a revamped iPad HD, a new iBooks application, and a sleeker MacBook. Be sure to tune in to AppleMagazine this Tuesday to catch a glimpse of all the Apple unveilings.
