Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens was an absolute hit for Amazon Prime. The show, starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen, followed a demon from Hell and an angel from Heaven as they try to balance out the good and the evil to avert the Apocalypse, was absolutely amazing and despite the book not having a sequel, the show was recently renewed for a second season, with Neil Gaiman once again heavily involved.
Recently, we’ve gotten quite a few news about the second season, whose production is underway as we’re writing this article, with the crew releasing the first official season two photo of the protagonists, Aziraphale (Sheen) and Crowley (Tennant). Amazon Prime has released the official synopsis for season two of Good Omens:
“Originally based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s international best-selling novel, the new season will explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley. Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.”
Now, it seems that a lot of thrills await us in the second season of the acclaimed show. While we wait, Amazon has also confirmed that, alongside Sheen and Tennant, the show will feature Michael McKean, Gloria Obianyo, Miranda Richardson, Maggie Service, Reece Shearsmith, Nina Sosanya, and Paul Adeyefa in different roles; most of these actors have appeared in the first season of the show but it seems that they’ve been recast in different roles, which is certainly going to make things more fun.
Good Omens season two is currently in production and we hope that we will hear some more info very soon. Season 2 of Good Omens does not yet have a release date. Season 1 is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
