An especially peculiar puzzle game has arrived in the iOS App Store. Little Broken Robots gives you the task of mending cute automatons through strategic finger-dragging.
The developer, Dragon Army, calls Little Broken Robots “a tactical yet therapeutic game”, which suggests that it should challenge players without frustrating them – a tricky balance that many puzzle games in the App Store can fail to strike.
The core gameplay involves rewiring the cartoon bots by tapping on a number before dragging along the screen to trace out a path. Your job is to repeatedly trace through a specified number of dots and, ultimately, fill in each empty dot on the grid.
There’s a generous choice of game modes, including Classic, Advanced and Timed modes, plus “all kinds of cute little robots of all shapes, sizes, colors and symptoms!” The game also supports Split View on iPad Air 2, iPad Pro and iPad Mini 4, allowing you to play even while working.
Little Broken Robots is now available as a free download for iOS 8.1 or later, but limited to iPhone 5 or newer, iPad 3 or newer and iPad Mini 2 or newer. The iPhone 4S, iPad 2, first generation iPad Mini and fifth generation iPod Touch are not supported.
