RBC Expects Apple to Make Early $2.4B Revenue from iPad Pro

In a new note, the investment bank RBC Capital Markets predicts that Apple will sell three million units of the iPad Pro during the first three months from its recent launch, reports Business Insider.

This is only one of many predictions favorable to Apple made in the note. Perhaps the most impressive is that the company will make a total of $2.4 billion in revenue from these sales. RBC has calculated this figure by asserting that each sold slate will make $200 profit, meaning that Apple’s total profits from the iPad Pro during this early period should be $600 million.

To put these figures into perspective, it should be considered that, between May and July, Microsoft amassed revenue of $888 million from its entire line of Surface tablets.

These figures collectively suggest that there has been pent-up demand for a larger iPad designed for heavy professional use, despite the long period in which Microsoft has offered highly acclaimed enterprise-oriented tablets. Despite a number of delayed predicted shipping times for the iPad Pro and its accessories, Apple is well-positioned to take advantage of this situation as it heads into the holiday period.
