Revamped MacBook Pro Looks Set to Arrive in Late October

While significantly redesigned new MacBook Pro models are expected to be unveiled in 2016’s fourth quarter, we haven’t received word of a more precise launch date than that… until now. A new report suggests that those new MacBook Pro models could surface before October is out.

Without citing its source, MacRumors has reported learning that Apple is currently moving quickly in its preparations for the launch. Apple is said to be currently working to vest macOS Sierra 10.12.1 with support for the revamped hardware’s new features – which, rumor hints, will include a Touch ID sensor and, just above the physical keyboard, an OLED “touch bar”.

Apparently, Apple intends to release one more beta of macOS 10.12.1 to developers and the public early next week. The software update would then be finalized within the following few days, allowing it to be loaded onto the currently in-production new hardware.

MacRumors adds that, should Apple not be thrown off this schedule by last-minute bugs or other issues, shipping of these new MacBook Pro models to customers could start “some time in the second half of October”. 13- and 15-inch models can be expected, though MacRumors admits to uncertainty whether they will be revealed at a media event or via press release.
