REVIEW: Bebe Rexha – No Broken Hearts (Feat. Nicki Minaj)

Even if the name Bebe Rexha isn’t familiar to you, you have probably unwittingly listened to some of her music. Having already provided vocals for David Guetta’s “Hey Mama” and Cash Cash’s “Take Me Home”, she’s now striking out on her own with this great slice of electropop.

While the overall message – that of female empowerment in the face of a failed relationship – might not sound terribly original, there’s an undoubtedly infectious groove to “No Broken Hearts”, which also sees Nicki Minaj popping up for a trash talking rap near the song’s closure. It’s easy to be held in thrall by the almost tropical feel throughout and encouragement to drown sorrows.

All-in-all, this is a promising teaser for Rexha’s upcoming debut studio album – and we don’t doubt that, as is much the case with “No Broken Hearts”, the emphasis will be firmly on letting hair down and having fun. The song is now available for streaming on Apple Music and buying from the iTunes Store.
