REVIEW: Dashy Crashy (iOS)

As your eccentric-looking vehicle races down the road, swipe left or right to change lanes and prevent getting hit by other cars for as long as possible. That’s the basic gist of :DUMPLING design’s automotive-based endless runner Dashy Crashy, which boasts a likeable visible personality, silky smooth controls and a steep difficulty curve – a truly terrible combination.

The only reason we say “terrible” is because it’s the kind of super-addictive game you could imagine losing your entire life to if you aren’t careful. There’s always a new challenge to meet, whether it’s attaining a new highest score or unlocking a new vehicle – the ice cream van, pictured below, is a personal favorite. Just be warned that the game is tougher than it initially looks – sometimes, avoiding crashing can seem tricky to the point of nigh-on impossible.

REVIEW: Dashy Crashy (iOS)

For this reason, we would be just a little hesitant to recommend the free-to-play Dashy Crashy to everyone – but, nonetheless, there’s a lot of game here for surprisingly little money. Buy just one of the numerous unlockable vehicles, and the occasional in-app advertisements are completely removed – a very generous offer for the many who Dashy Crashy is likely to enthrall.
