This week, Hotel Tonight updated its iOS app with expanded Touch ID support and some limited-time discounts for Apple Pay users. But what actually is this app? It allows avid travelers to quickly book suitable hotels at the last minute – and using it is now an even more streamlined process.
Which city are you eager to visit? Vibrant New York? Romantic Paris? Historically fascinating Berlin? Sunny Hawaiian hotspot Honolulu? For all of these places and many more, it’s easy to tap through various screens within the app and see which hotels are still offering rooms at reduced prices. And, once you’ve decided on somewhere suitable, you can now use Touch ID and Apple Pay to book without having to enter your name, email address or payment details.
We are also delighted to see that the app supports Split View multitasking on supported iPads – and, while Split View, Touch ID and Apple Pay are absent from many older iOS devices, the app’s intuitive layout and beautiful photos of the hotels on offer remain big draws for users of this older hardware.
Consider all of this and a few other neat additions with the latest update, such as the option to more speedily find hotels with pools by typing “pool” after a city name in the search field, and you’ve got a fantastic companion for when you’re on your travels. And it’s free to download!
