What would it feel like to be stranded on a distant planet? You can get an idea by watching acclaimed sci-fi spectacular The Martian – and almost as good an idea by listening to that film’s score by Harry Gregson-Williams.
Composer Gregson-Williams has added soothing aural accompaniment to an impressively lengthy list of top-drawer movies. Furthermore, he’s certainly on good form for The Martian, many of the tracks capturing the desolation – but also strange sense of peacefulness – that we could imagine coming from an inadvertent stay on Mars.
However, the movie has just arrived for purchase on iTunes, and attracted such strong acclaim that we would definitely recommend that you check it out. Listening to this score can provide something of a taster – and, before you go on from there, you could read the current issue of AppleMagazine to further clue yourself up on the cinematic masterpiece.
