We’ve had a lot of fun playing the music-themed iOS game Riff Racer since its release last week. And now, it’s even better, thanks to a new update that fixes one of the game’s most glaring faults.
If you aren’t familiar with Riff Racer, it’s a racing game that allows you to make your own courses by converting music tracks from your iTunes library. However, if you’ve been busy making lots of new courses on Riff Racer, the enjoyment might have been hindered by repeat crashing.
No, we don’t mean the physical impact kind of crashing – we mean software crashing. We found that, whenever we had made a new course and received the on-screen notice that we would be forever credited with making that course, the game would immediately crash – leading us to have to load it up again.
This, in itself, wasn’t actually a huge inconvenience – as, upon our return, the just-created course would be readily accessible in the Recent Tracks section. However, developer FOAM Entertainment has released a fresh update, version 1.1.1, which it said would address that crashing.
We have an iOS update – if you’ve been experiencing crashes when converting new songs into racetracks they should behave better now :)

We’ve tested the updated game and found that, indeed, it no longer crashes after new courses are made. If you haven’t yet tried Riff Racer, check out our review before downloading the game for the “limited time launch discount” price of $0.99 from the iOS App Store.
