Rocky Producer Reveals Plans are Afoot for Creed Sequel

We can now look forward to a sequel to Creed, the highly acclaimed boxing drama and spin-off from the long-running Rocky franchise. That movie’s producer, Irwin Winkler, told The Hollywood Reporter that work will start on the next film in the “next couple of weeks”.

Winkler, who also produced the very first Rocky movie released in 1976, insisted that the franchise’s next installment will be “basically” about Creed star Adonis Creed rather than Rocky Balboa. He added: “We think that there is really a story to examine the life of Adonis Creed, and we’re going ahead with it”.

He did not mention, however, whether Creed director Ryan Cooglar and lead actor Michael B. Jordan were set to return. If you’re yet to watch Creed, you can now catch up by downloading it from the iTunes Store. There’s also a good overview of that movie in the new issue of AppleMagazine.
