Rumors Suggest Faraday Future is Apple “Dummy” Car Maker

A mysterious new company called Faraday Future is set to take on Tesla in the electric car industry – but its peculiarly large resources have led to speculation that it is in fact an Apple “dummy” firm.

According to an article by news.com.au, Faraday started operating from a California-based research facility only last year and has former Ferrari, Ford and Volvo staff. Even more bizarrely, it has refused to reveal its CEO’s name or the source of its huge financial resources. Little is also known about its first vehicle, which is said to be scheduled for a 2017 launch.

Apple is known for its secrecy of in-development projects. Especially intriguingly, one of Faraday’s staffers is the head designer of the BMW i8, a sports car variant of the BMW i3 electric car, pictured above, that has reportedly inspired Apple’s own rumored electric car project. Nonetheless, it could be months or years before more concrete details about Faraday Future and its activities emerge.
