One of the most highly anticipated phones of the year, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9, is expected to be released on August 9th but some alleged renders have already been leaked, revealing a phone that looks exactly like you’d expect.
Thanks to a collaboration between @onleaks and 91mobiles, the renders can be seen in the video below although there aren’t many surprises because the Note 9 looks remarkably similar to last year’s Note 8.
It’s assumed that the phone will have a 6.3 inch infinity display with the same button layout as the Note 8. Considering Samsung has already announced the next version of its AI assistant will launch in the Note 9, a dedicated button for Bixby isn’t surprising.
There’s also a dual camera system which has had another redesign from the Note 8 and the S9+, keeping the horizontal lens placement but replacing the fingerprint scanner underneath for easier access. The renders also show off the 3.5mm headphone jack, alongside an expected USB-C port and S-Pen housing.
While @onleaks tends to have a good track record with these things, we still shouldn’t take everything at face value. We’re not exactly surprised that Samsung hasn’t released something that has an unremarkable design to last year’s offering but there’s still a chance that new features could be added from now until then.
