Samsung appears to be preparing to release a Bluetooth C Pen stylus for use with the Windows 10-powered Galaxy Tab Pro S and other touchscreen devices. A new retail listing reveals many tech specs about the implement, which could go on sale within the next few weeks.
The listing, on the German site Cyberport and noted by SamMobile, reveals that this upcoming C Pen uses Microsoft’s Directlink, a platform intended to ease stylus-driven touch input on Windows 10. The C Pen also comes with Bluetooth 4.0 LE connectivity and back and eraser buttons, along with the ability to discern 1,024 levels of pressure.
Samsung already offers a line of S Pen styluses, including the one pictured above. However, these are built for use only with the South Korean firm’s Galaxy Note devices. The new C Pen could entice many people outside the company’s committed customer base, though the price – a surprisingly high €59.90, equivalent to about $66 in the United States – could prove a slight sore point.
