Servant

In December 2020, Apple announced that it would be renewing its critically acclaimed psychological horror Servant for a third season. This announcement came a month before the premiere of the show’s second season, which was great news for the fans of the M. Night Shyamalan-produced television series.

The show’s official synopsis reveals the following: “From M. Night Shyamalan, Servant follows a Philadelphia couple in mourning after an unspeakable tragedy creates a rift in their marriage and opens the door for a mysterious force to enter their home”. Each season consists of 10 episodes that last between 25 and 35 minutes, with Shyamalan stating that he initially planned a 60-episode show consisting of six seasons, but later opted for a 40-episode, four-season TV series.

Season 3 Information

Information on the third season of Servant is still scarce. M. Night Shyamalan has personally confirmed, via Twitter, that Apple renewed the show and also later confirmed that the first episode of the third season had already been filmed: “You’re always so supportive @stephenking. Means more than you know. Can’t wait for you to see the finale of season 2… I also just wrapped directing the first episode of season 3! Trying to keep up with your pace!”

Interestingly enough, this confirmation came on March 16, 2021, after the famed horror author, Stephen King, praised Shyamalan’s show on Twitter: “SERVANT (Apple TV+): If there’s anything creepier or more bingeworthy than this, I don’t know what it is. Tight focus, great acting, and atmosphere. Two seasons available. No, that’s wrong. 1 episode still outstanding.”

M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Servant’

As far as an official release date is concerned, Apple has not provided us with any additional details but based on the history of the show’s production and the earlier release dates, we assume that the third season could have its premiere somewhere around March 2022.

Also, based on the previous seasons and what Shyamalan said about his plans with the show, we can safely assume that the third season of Servant is likewise going to contain have 10 episodes, which are going to lead us into the expected fourth season of the show.

The storyline is certainly going to follow the events of the recently finished second season, but since not even the cast knows the plot upfront (they get their scripts on an episodic basis, so even they have no clue what the writers have planned for the next episode), we cannot even being to assume about the narrative aspects of the show’s third season.

As for the cast, although nothing has yet been officially confirmed, it is expected that the principal cast of the series – which includes Lauren Ambrose as Dorothy Turner, Toby Kebbell as Sean Turner, Nell Tiger Free as Leanne Grayson, and Rupert Grint as Julian Pearce – is going to return for the third season as well.

And this is all we know about the upcoming third season of Apple TV’s hit series Servant. We know that we are going to see it soon and given the high standards the first two seasons have set, we expect another thrilling 10-episode narrative that is going to leave us wanting more!
