Dexter: New Blood (2021) Official Trailer | SHOWTIME

As you can see for yourselves, Showtime has finally released the first trailer for the upcoming Dexter continuation, Dexter: New Blood. News of a revival made fans happy, as Dexter was a fan-favorite TV show about an unlikely serial murderer and his psychology. The show starred Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, a forensic expert working for the Miami Police Department who is also a serial murderer; Hall will, of course, reprise his role in the revival.

Showrunner Clyde Phillips is also returning and he explained that the main reason for this 10-episode revival is the fact that the original ending made a lot of people unhappy: “So far as the ending of the show, this will have no resemblance to how the original finale was,” Phillips explained. “It’s a great opportunity to write a second finale. This is an opportunity to make that right. But that’s not why we’re doing it.”

Aside from Hall, Jennifer Carpenter is also returning to the show as Deb Morgan, with new and returning cast members Clancy Brown as Kurt Caldwell, Alano Miller as Logan, Johnny Sequoyah as Audrey, Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan/Randall, and David Magidoff as Teddy.

“And let’s be real: people found the way that show left things pretty unsatisfying, and there’s always been a hope that a story would emerge that would be worth telling,” Hall said back in January. “I include myself in the group of people that wondered, ‘What the hell happened to that guy?'”

As for Deb’s role, Carpenter recently said the following: “…I think Deb… represents a corner of Dexter’s mind that we all have in our own heads that says, ‘Well, wait a minute. If you do this, then here are the consequences and then you decide whether or not to do it whether or not to pursue it.'”

Dexter: New Blood is set to premiere on Showtime on November 7, 2021, which means that we don’t have long to wait. We just hope that the revival brings a satisfactory conclusion to the whole show.
