Simplicit, Inc., a customer experience strategy firm, has unveiled a new line of feature-rich standalone preconfigured iPad kiosks, stands and designer kits for businesses. Key features include a device locking mechanism, Apple USB connector, flexible cable management, velvet screen protection, and an acoustic sound amplifier.
Three standard products are now available in addition to custom design services:
- SOMA Edition – Has a quarter-inch aluminum plate, shielded home button and beveled window.
- Lux – Has an alluring open 'C' design that features a small wedge ensuring stability for an iPad. Standard finishes come in black or silver.
- CoffeeTop – Can be flipped to use in a portrait position and has an angular design that's ideal for mobile use, for playing music or for product demos when used with the integrated acoustic speaker amplifier.
According to Ken Zaloom, Simplicit founder, the company created the stands while designing and implementing in store digital experiences for high end retailers.
“We couldn't find any elegant solutions at a price point that supported a wide scale roll-out — so we designed our own,” said Zaloom.
Zaloom added that for most clients, customization and branding is critical. Simplicit has also rolled out designer stand kits enabling users to create their own stand solutions that can be modified for other device types and sizes mounted in either a landscape or portrait position. Simplicit also provides custom branding and designs for companies, which can include laser etching or silk screening company logos, and clear-coat painting if requested. United Kingdom-based Imagination Technologies, for instance, recently used two branded stands at International CES 2013 in Las Vegas.
“We got a lot of positive comments about the stands that were displayed in our suite during CES,” said Imagination Technologies' Director of PR David Harold. “We also plan to use the stands in the demo room at our corporate HQ.”
“All of our stands will not only raise eyebrows, but can easily become a Point-of-Sale for any business,” noted Zaloom.
