L.A. singer-songwriter Laura Michelle is set to land a musical knockout blow with her premiere single, “Chuck Norris,” a whimsical pop anthem about unleashing the Kung-Fu master that lies within us all. Co-written by Laura and Writer-Producer Jim McGorman, the single “Chuck Norris” is available now on iTunes – the first song off of Laura’s upcoming debut album, “Novel with No End,” releasing spring 2013.

The music video skyrocketed past one million YouTube views in its first week. Co-directed by Kurt Zendzian and Max Moraga and shot at iconic L.A. locales such as Hollywood Boulevard and the beaches of Santa Monica, the video is a witty commentary on the song’s central message of self-acceptance. A proud prankster herself, Laura co-conceived the video’s concept, which features her at the roller rink, jogging along the shore and navigating Hollywood Boulevard dressed as Snow White.

The new single and album was executive produced by two-time Grammy winner Jarrett Zellea (Luther Vandross, Santana, Jay-Z). Jim McGorman (Avril Lavigne, Shakira) co-produced and co-wrote several tracks with Laura. Multi-Grammy-winner Rafa Sardina engineered and mixed, while a stellar group of musicians played with Laura on the new album, including guitarist/pianist Jim McGorman, drummer Mark Slutsky (Pink, Grace Potter, Kylie Minogue) and bassist Jon Button (Roger Daltrey, Sheryl Crow, Shakira).

A native of Danville, a suburb in the East Bay of Northern CA, Laura started singing before she could walk, delved into recording when she got to high school, and began writing her own music when she moved to LA post grad. She soon formed a band that began performing original songs across Southern California and up the California coast. After meeting Producer Jarrett Zellea, Laura began writing her debut album. Songs include smart rockers and poignant ballads such as the title track “Novel With No End,” a tribute to her late father, who died when Laura was 15.

Following the release of the album, Laura and her band are set to launch a string of California concert dates, with more to come later in the spring and summer.

Says Laura of her core message, “Music was my best friend growing up; it was a shoulder to cry on when things were tough. It was someone who, no matter what my mood was or what was going on in my life, seemed to understand me completely. If my music can be that for someone else; if it can help them feel they aren’t alone in their feelings, whether they are sad, happy, angry, or whatever…then I’m happy!”
