Solange Knowles Shares Video of Jam Sessions for New Album

Solange Knowles, the sister of R&B star Beyoncé, has shared a short video documentary providing an insight into the making of her recently released third studio album, A Seat at the Table.

“I’m really excited to share with you a little film that documents the early stages of my songwriting, jam sessions, and collaborations of #aseatatthetable”, Knowles declared on Facebook. The video, which you can watch below, shows her working on the album in Long Island, New Orleans and New Iberia.

The video lasts for just over 11 minutes and includes music that didn’t actually make the final cut for the album, plus Knowles working on material that did, such as “Don’t Touch My Hair” and “Where Do We Go”. Collaborators with cameos in the video include her son Julez, plus Kwes, Sampha and Kindness.

If you haven’t yet give A Seat at the Table a good listen, you can stream it on Apple Music or buy it from the iTunes Store. Before doing either, though, you can read more about the album in the new issue of AppleMagazine! You can easily get your digital copy by subscribing via our free-to-download iOS app.
