It has been just over 3 years since the PS4s launch back in November 2013, and Sony has recently stated that since then the company has reached the impressive milestone of 50 million units sold.
The news follows this year’s Black Friday, which Sony claims was their best Black Friday thus far, with both strong console and game sales.
This marks a huge victory over their direct competitor Microsoft, with the Xbox One selling 10 million units within the same span of time.
Sony already holds the record for highest-selling games console of all time with the PlayStation 2 – selling well over 155 million units by the time Sony halted production on January 4th 2013, nearly 13 years after it’s launch.
With the PS4 Pro and PS VR now available to consumers, plus an extensive library of exciting upcoming titles teased at PlayStation Experience, the future is looking bright for Sony.
