Speed and Portability of Refreshed MacBook Hailed by Critics

Though Apple brought only subtle enhancements with its refresh of the MacBook line earlier this week, the new notebook has been generally well-received by critics, its portability attracting particular praise.

Forbes reviewer Brooke Crothers has declared himself “totally on board with the design” – which, untouched from last year’s MacBook, remains a mere 13.1mm thick. TIME’s Lisa Eadicicco, along similar lines, says that “the MacBook’s design and portability won’t disappoint Apple fans”, and sums up the device as “fast and capable”.

Writing for CNET, Dan Ackerman opines that, with the improved performance and battery life, the MacBook “can no longer be considered an outlier only suited for a very limited audience that values portability over productivity.” If you’re considering picking it up, possibly in the new rose gold finish, reading the lead article in the new issue of AppleMagazine could help you to make your mind up.
