The next cinematic outing for Spider-Man now has an official title. At the exhibition trade show CinemaCon taking place in Las Vegas this week, Sony Pictures revealed the title, along with various tantalizing details about the plot of the movie set to hit US theaters next summer.
For the big announcement, the English actor set to don Spidey’s spandex took the spotlight with the simple sentence: “I’m Tom Holland and I’m your new Spider-Man”. Holland further explained that the movie would follow the web-crawler’s alter ego Peter Parker as he searches for his identity.
Variety reports the expressed hope of Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman that this story will be told across a new cinematic trilogy. He further quipped that Homecoming‘s plot will focus on the conflict between “saving the world and getting your algebra homework done at the same time.”
Sony, which will make Spider-Man: Homecoming in partnership with Disney’s Marvel Studios, also showed off the movie’s logo, which you can enjoy a good look at above. Holland’s Spider-Man is also lined up to appear in future big screen additions to the Avengers series.
