Sprint Rolls Out Messaging Plus

Sprint said that connecting with friends and family just got easier for its customers via the launch of Messaging Plus on select iPhone and Android-powered smartphones.

According to a release, Messaging Plus, powered by cloud communications company Jibe Mobile, lets customers use a single application to connect with family and friends on any wireless carrier in the United States, Canada and Mexico via text, instant messaging, group messaging, and video chat, as well as sharing of photos and videos. Sprint is the first national wireless carrier to enable cloud-based enhanced messaging features that can be downloaded on select smartphones for consumer use with multiple carriers.

Sprint noted that Messaging Plus is free and easy to install on iPhones and Android-powered smartphones. Customers simply download it to their device from Sprint Zone, Sprint.com, Google Play or the Apple App Store. Once the application is installed, Sprint customers with Messaging Plus can invite their family and friends to download the application from Google Play or the Apple App Store to their device to enable all the messaging features across carriers in a single application.

And, we are pleased to be able to grow the use of the technology by having Messaging Plus users invite their contacts on any carrier in the United States to download it to their device. It makes it simple and convenient for everyone to connect with friends and family the way they want.”
