Staples Now Accepting Apple Pay for Buys on Mobile Website

The office supplies retail chain Staples has announced that it is now accepting Apple Pay as a payment method on its mobile website, m.staples.com – allowing for more speedy and secure payment there.

Staples has keenly taken to Apple Pay in the past, with the payment service already accepted in the company’s iPhone app and at its bricks and mortar stores. Now, Apple Pay can be used to quickly pay for goods on Staples’ mobile website in the Safari browser on compatible Apple devices.

This new functionality means that Staples customers can shop on Apple devices without having to spend precious time typing into lengthy online forms or take up storage space on those devices by installing the Staples app. In a press release, Faisal Masud, executive vice president, global e-commerce, Staples, revealed: “We’ve been very pleased with the response to Apple Pay in our iPhone app”.

This web-based use of Apple Pay is available on the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7 and 7 Plus, the iPad Pro, Air 2, Mini 3 and Mini 4, and any Mac introduced in 2012 or later, provided that it is running macOS Sierra and payment is authenticated with an Apple Pay-ready iPhone or Apple Watch.
