Steve Jobs’ job application from 1973 sold for $174,757 at auction

A job application questionnaire, a very rare find, filled out by Steve Jobs in 1963 sold for $174,757 at auction last week. The former Apple CEO filled out the application after dropping out of Reed College, aged 18.

Jobs attended the college for around 6 months before dropping out.

Unsurprisingly, Jobs lists Computer, Calculator, Design and tech as his skills and Electronics and Tech or Design Engineer as his special abilities. However, perhaps more surprisingly to some, he writes English Lit as his major.

Shortly after this application was completed, Jobs became a technician at Atari, working alongside Steve Woznaik, and Apple was founded just a few years later in 1976.

The winner of the document wants to remain anonymous but was referred to as an “internet entrepreneur from London”.
