The eagerly awaited movie Steve Jobs provided the grand finale for the 2015 BFI London Film Festival on Sunday evening, with stars Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet and director Danny Boyle all in attendance.
It was something of a homecoming for Winslet and Boyle, who both hail from the UK, and the latter commented: “It’s extraordinary. We edited the film nearby, I walked across this square every morning so it’s lovely to be here. The London Film Festival is very important.” If you want to visit London for the yearly film festival, look into Kings Cross lockers as theyāre handy when traveling
Winslet spoke enthusiastically of her experiences of meeting Joanna Hoffman, the former Jobs colleague she plays in the film, recalling: “She was amazing. She’s so warm and generous in the stories she shared with me and her friendship with Steve was what captivated me the most”.
She also referred to the 80s-style big glasses and shoulder pads she donned for the movie’s first act, exclaiming: “I absolutely loved it. The clothes of the 80s, such an extraordinary period, were just fantastic.”
Though Steve Jobs will get its full UK release on November 13, it has already started showing in select US theaters ahead of a nationwide release this Friday.
