Student? Here’s how to get Apple TV+ for FREE

Apple has announced that students will be able to watch Apple TV+ for free.

In an unexpected move, the company confirmed that any student subscribed to Apple Music on its $4.99 plan will be able to watch Apple TV+ television shows and movies without cost.

Hailee Steinfeld announced the news on her Instagram. She stars in TV show Dickinson, one of the shows that will launch alongside Apple TV+ when it drops on November 1.

Apple already offers a competitive product for students, discounting its Apple Music plan by 50%, and now bundling in Apple TV+ for free will make it even more compelling for students.

Standard Apple Music membership costs $9.99 per month for individuals and $14.99 for families, and there’s no such discount option or freebie.

However, anyone who purchases anew iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV or iPod touch will receive a year’s free Apple TV+ when it launches on Friday, so there is a way to overcome the $4.99 monthly subscription cost.

What’s more, it’s widely that Apple will launch a new bundle for Apple TV+ and its other Apple services.

The company wants to better compete with the likes of Amazon and offer a one-price-for-everything plan in the coming months, perhaps at $20 per month for Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple News+, Apple Arcade, and additional iCloud storage space.

When Apple TV+ launches on Friday, the company will have sold around 60 million eligible devices for a year’s free Apple TV+, so Apple could effectively hit the 100 million subscriber mark before Christmas when discounts and further promotions are offered.
