While Android 7.0 Nougat might have recently seen its full launch, it remains unclear when a lot of Android users will even get it. Major carrier T-Mobile has, however, cleared at least some of the confusion by listing several Samsung and HTC phones that are currently in line for Nougat.
On its website, T-Mobile has used a page titled āWelcome to Software Updatesā to indicate its agreements with Samsung and HTC to support an update to Nougat for the following phones: the HTC 10, HTC One M9, Samsung Note 5, Samsung Note 7, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge +, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
However, T-Mobile reveals that it has yet to carry out ācertification process testingā to ensure that Nougat is āthe best quality software possibleā on any of these devices. Hence, it remains unclear when exactly Nougat will actually be rolled out for T-Mobile subscribers with these devices.
Still, T-Mobile also notes: āNot all devices will be listed on this page for future software updates.ā Therefore, the number and range of Android smartphones getting Nougat could ultimately become much bigger than this ā though this could depend on T-Mobile reaching agreements with other manufacturers, some of which could have a lax attitude to ensuring updates for their devices.
