As far as popular shows go, Ted Lasso has certainly captured the hearts of fans around the world with its unusual story and great humor. The show premiered on Apple TV+ on August 14, 2020, with the series’ first two episodes airing simultaneously. The show starts Jason Sudeikis as the titular character, an American college football coach who, incidentally or not, gets hired by English club AFC Richmond to coach an association football (soccer) team despite having absolutely no experience with the sport.

The series was actually inspired by the story of Terry Smith, an American gridiron football coach who took over the English association football team Chester City F.C. and subsequently installed himself as the first-team coach. The first season of the show concluded its 10-episode run on October 2, 2020, but the show had already been renewed for a second, 10-episode season as of August 19, 2020.

Now, on April 20, 2021, Apple released the second season’s wonderfully hilarious trailer, which revealed to us that Ted Lasso, despite collecting eight draws in a row, isn’t losing hope and is certainly not panicking about the situation. The likable American has a lot of faith in both his team and himself, and season two is going to reveal to us how all of that plays out for AFC Richmond.

Ted Lasso has been among the best-rated shows for Apple TV+ since its premiere and we are certain that the success is going to continue, seeing that all the main players – both behind and in front of the cameras – are set to return. With Jason Sudeikis’ charismatic interpretation, the second season of Ted Lasso is certainly going to be another successful season for Apple TV+ and we cannot wait to see how the games of our favorite fictional association football (soccer) team play out in season two. The first episode is expected to hit the screens on July 23, 2021.
