The new movie adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book has proved a hit with critics. This week, the film’s producer, Brigham Taylor, admitted that he is eyeing Jennifer Lawrence for a role in the sequel.
Taylor has said that many aspects of the original novels had to be left out of the new live action film, which stars Bill Murray as Baloo, Idris Elba as Shere Khan and Scarlett Johansson as Kaa. This means that there is plenty of material on which to base the in-the-works follow-up.
Earlier this week, Taylor told Bang Showbiz at the current film’s London-set European premiere that, for the sequel, “we’d like to continue to find more female voices in it – Jennifer Lawrence, people like that – they’d be fun to have in the jungle.”
On the subject of Jennifer Lawrence, her biographical comedy-drama Joy has recently been added to the iTunes Store. The above trailer, plus the just-released latest issue of AppleMagazine, can give you a good idea of what to expect if you’re thinking about checking it out.
