The Moleys Provides a Fun Multiplayer Twist On An Arcade Classic

Looking for a unique multiplayer experience? The Moleys, a brand new title from Pyro Mobile Games, can give you that experience. This title blends together strategy with the rapid fire action of the classic arcade game, Whack-a-Mole. Upon first glance, The Moleys actually appears to be a spawn between Whack-a-Mole and Battleship, with a nice, casual twist.

The premise has you tapping squares on a grass-laden checkerboard. The screen is split into a top screen and a bottom screen. The top screen shows you where moles are hiding, while the bottom screen acts as the play area. The object of each level is to discover the hiding moles as quickly as possible. But it’s not as easy as it sounds.

If you tap the wrong square, you’ll be penalized, forcing you to wait until a timer reaches zero, before you can hunt the moles again. Each mole has its own unique skill, too, furthering the difficulty. Some moles will shake the screen when you uncover them, making it easier to accidentally tap the wrong square. Others will move from hiding spot to hiding spot before finally giving up. There are even moles that wear helmets, forcing you to tap them three times, instead of once.

There is a unique multiplayer aspect to this title, too, where you can create your own levels and send them as challenges to your friends. You’ll be forced to play your own level creation, though, so be careful when planning. The player with the fastest time (after each player has taken a turn) is the winner. There is also a fun Time Attack mode in which you must activate as many moles as possible before time is up.

You can download The Moleys right now from the App Store for free. You’ll get access to multiplayer, time attack, and 49 “Adventure Levels.”  If you upgrade to the full version for USD $1.99, you’ll get an additional 51 levels and all the ads will disappear. This is a really fun and unique title; be sure to give it a shot. Check out the official trailer below for a better look at The Moleys.
