There are now more than 100 million people wearing an Apple Watch, according to analysts.

Neil Cybart at Above Avalon has revealed that Apple surpassed the 100 million milestone last December and that the launch of the Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 6 helped to boost adoption rates in the United States. Apple Fitness+ also had an impact on sales.

Apple first announced the Apple Watch back in 2014, with the first model hitting stores in April 2015, and since the device has become one of the most important products in Apple’s portfolio. The product category has enjoyed continued growth each year since its launch, and it’s thought that more than 30 million Apple Watches were sold in 2020 alone.

According to the analyst, 10% of iPhone users now have an Apple Watch, too.

The Apple Watch is now Apple’s fourth-biggest product, sitting behind the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and as wearables become more mainstream and popular, that ranking could change.
