Tim Cook meets with Saudi Prince to talk app development and education

To complete his tour of the US, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with Tim Cook at Apple’s headquarters, along with other top Apple executives. Discussions focused on new partnerships, app development and education opportunities, according to a Saudi Press release.

The Saudi Prince has been the driving force behind changing policies in Saudi Arabia and has met with key players in the technology industry including Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and more. He was even given an inside look at Apple’s new $5 billion campus, Apple Park. According to the press release, while at Apple, he discusses applications, education, including new Arabic-language educational content, health and marketing.

Educational opportunities

A big focused was placed on technological solutions for “enriching the Arabic educational content in the classroom”. Education has formed an integral part of Apple’s business for decades and the Saudi Prince also discussed potential job opportunities for Saudi youth to train at Apple’s headquarters. According to Arabian Business, “Apple is spearheading a push by foreign companies to ensure that men and women will be allowed to work together in Saudi Arabia.”
