Tim Cook on NBC’s Rock Center and in Grand Central Station

Would you recognize Tim Cook if you saw him walking along in Grand Central Station? I know I would. Then again I've been a devoted Apple follower for quite some time. When he recently filmed an appearance for NBC's Rock Center with Brian Williams, he walked through the busy station and no one recognized him until he got to the Apple Store.

Everyone is thinking the obvious. Steve Jobs probably couldn't have walked two feet without being recognized by nearly everybody. Then again, he was a much more public figure than Cook. In fact, this will be his first televised interview since taking over as Apple CEO over a year ago.

I could easily sit down and interview him for hours. While maybe not quite as fascinating of a person as Jobs, he's holding all of Apple's secrets in there somewhere. He knows what products will be released next. He knows when the iPhone 5S will be released. He knows if there will be another iPad released this coming year after the quickie release of the fourth generation along with the iPad Mini. He knows if there will ever be an Apple TV that we sit down to watch instead of just having it stream to our existing TVs. And he's probably on a first-name basis with Siri. Wait. So is everyone else.

Rock Center with Brian Williams has already been added to my DVR. I don't want to miss this interview. You can catch it yourself on Thursday night at 10 PM ET. And until then, if you're walking through Grand Central Station, make sure that inconsequential man walking by you isn't Tim Cook.
