TLC Movie: ‘CrazySexyCool’ Ratings Show TV Gold In ’90s Oldies

The R&B trio TLC hasn’t had a new Top 40 hit in more than a decade, but VH1 discovered the group still has plenty of fans.

“CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story,” a made-for-TV movie about the group, premiered Monday and gave VH1 its best ratings in five years, with 4.5 million total viewers, according to Nielsen.

The biopic also spiked sales of a compilation album, “20,” on the iTunes chart Tuesday.

TLC was one of the biggest pop acts of the 1990s, with hits including “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs.” One of the members, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, died in a car accident in 2002 and the group went into a lengthy hiatus. But it has re-emerged in recent years, including to perform a medley several years ago on “American Idol.”

What did you think of “CrazySexyCool” on VH1?
