If you’re a big Apple product fan you probably have a working list going of your favorite product releases. It turns out MacFormat magazine does too. Want to compare lists? First you have to only look at hardware. No software/apps are included here.
MacFormat has used a public vote to decide that the best product to make its debut in the last twenty years is the MacBook Air. You can see in the graphic above how great the device is when you compare it to its “granddaddy,” the Macintosh Portable that was introduced in 1989. Of course it’s debatable, as I would have thought the winning product would be a mobile device as that seems to be where Apple is more revolutionary and where the future is headed.
The iPhone, though, didn’t take too much of a back seat, but it’s not the iPhone you’d expect. At first thought, it seemed that the original iPhone would be the higher-placed calling device. Instead the device taking second place is the iPhone 5, while the original iPhone is down at number 11, one step above the original iPad. There are four other versions of the iPad finding a place on the list along with two other versions of the iPhone. Perhaps the iPhone 5 doesn’t deserve all the criticism it receives?
