Twitter Adds Ability to Post Multiple Photos, Tag Friends

Twitter

In its continuing quest to make its service more attractive to casual users, Twitter has added the ability for users to post multiple pictures at once as well as tag friends in their photos.

Users can tag up to 10 people in their photos. More importantly, Twitter said that tagging others won’t affect a tweets’ character count, so users will still be able to tweet normally.

When a user is tagged in a photo, they will receive a notification. Users can adjust their notifications and limit who can tag them by going into their settings.

Twitter updates its Apple iOS and Android mobile apps on Wednesday with the new tagging feature.

The microblogging service has also made it possible for users of its iPhone app to post up to four photos in the same tweet. This feature will roll out to Android users and users of the Twitter website “soon.”

The new photo features come as Twitter works to simplify its service and add features that will help it gain more users.

The company has a large base of avid users, but it has struggled to gain new ones in the past few years. Fixing that has become a priority for the company now that it has stockholders who want to see continued growth.
