Twitter Adds Moments Tab, Polls and GIF Search to Mac App

Twitter has updated its Mac app with a number of features previously added to the website and iOS app – including the Moments tab, intended for discovering topical tweets, and the ability to make polls.

Moments helps users to speedily look through images, clips and other content reflecting what news stories, events and topics are currently attracting the most interest on the social media site. Content is aggregated into a range of categories, including News, Sports, Entertainment and Fun.

It’s also now possible to use the Mac app to make custom polls on Twitter. The question and multiple choice options are up to you, and each poll can stay open for 24 hours after it is posted.

Finally, there’s also the addition of the GIF search feature. Debuted on the iOS app in February, it allows users to pick from a gallery of animated GIFs for inclusion in Tweets and Direct Messages.

Twitter had given its Mac app a significant design and feature overhaul in December – and this new update brings the Mac app more to parity with the iOS app. Twitter’s dedicated app for Mac can now be freely downloaded from the Mac App Store.
