Twitter is finally rolling out support for different image sizes on iOS and Desktop.
Earlier in the year, the company confirmed it was testing a new way to preview images on the social network, and now the feature is arriving on iOS and the web. It means whether you share a square image or a rectangular image, users should be able to see it on their timelines in full.
“Pic looking good in the Tweet composer? That’s how it will look on the timeline,” the company said, confirming that the future has been rolled out. Most images now appear larger than before, and the algorithm will no longer cut out parts of the image or video for size.
A new kind of surprise: show off more of your pic when you Tweet a single image.
Now available to everyone on Android and iOS –– how your image looks in the Tweet composer is how it will look on the timeline. https://t.co/GTD4JGVXmY pic.twitter.com/u5X2kc8dzO

Twitter has also been teasing the ability to upload 4K images and video to the website, and though it’s still in beta, it’s thought that this latest update could mean 4K content is coming sooner rather than later. The company also launched Twitter Blue this week, allowing consumers to pay $2.99 per month for access to additional functionality like hiding adverts and new theming options. Other features include a thread viewer, bookmark folders, custom navigations, and pinned conversations.
