Twitter Mac App Hugely Updated with New Design and Features

Twitter has given its Mac app a significant update today, introducing a revamped design and various exciting features. This brings it into line with the social networkā€™s more frequently updated iOS app.

The new version 4.0 of the Mac app now ā€œlooks and feels more like the Twitter you carry with you everydayā€, according to the release notes. Twitter adds that it has ā€œbuilt in some of the most-requested features so your Twitter for Mac experience combines what you love about Twitter with the elegance you expect on a Mac.ā€

The most immediately noticeable improvement is the overall design, which now comes with icons, buttons and interactions more closely matching those of the iOS app. Thereā€™s also a new Dark Theme, while more practical fresh additions include inline video playback ā€“ allowing videos to be played within your feed ā€“ and Quote Tweet, which enables you to comment directly on your retweets.

This updated version of Twitter for Mac is now available for free download from the Mac App Store.
