Twitter Rolls Out ‘Connect Tab’ for Easier Account Discovery

Twitter is a great place for connecting with interesting people from around the world. However, discovering exciting new people and accounts can now be even easier, thanks to the introduction of a ‘Connect tab’ which is rolling out to users of the Twitter app on iOS and Android.

In a blog post, Twitter Product Manager Ricardo Castro says that, while “finding new accounts to follow used to require jumping through a few hoops and a dash of luck”, hitting the new Connect tab at the left hand corner of the screen will bring up “a detailed list of people and accounts we think you’ll enjoy following, all easily accessible in one place.”

Apparently, the recommendations are based on factors including who you already follow, tweets you like, and accounts that are popular where you are. Twitter will even inform you exactly why it is putting forward each recommendation.

Castro concludes by saying that, if you now want to check out the Connect tab for yourself, you can do so after updating the Twitter app on iOS or Android. The Connect tab will be immediately introduced to you with a little blue prompt.
